Cant hear my voice mails..

When i get a voice mail and go to the voice mail screen( i assume this is called visual voice mail) and play the message, even with the volume turned all the way up i barely can hear the messages people have left me even when i am in a quiet environment....this is with every voice mail i get. I know its not a phone(hardware) issue and any suggestions so i can hear my voice mails lol would be welcomed. Thx.

This might be a stupid question, but when you pick the message to listen to and it starts playing, are you holding the phone up to your ear?

Yes I am squashing the phone against my ear to hear them. They are very faint to the point you would think the volume on my phone is turned way down but it isnt. I hear fine on voice calls, its just the voice mail volume.

hmm, then I can't think of why you would have that problem. I only asked the stupid question because first time I had a voice mail I thought it was supposed to play through the speaker and not the ear piece, but I could just barely hear it. Took me a few seconds to realize that it was coming through the ear piece
