Can't hide navigation bar

I noticed just today that my nav bar setup has changed. I had it set up to be hidden but when I swipe up from the bottom of the screen the nav buttons appear. Now, the nav bar is hidden but there are no buttons when I swipe up. It's now using the "no button" nav bar. Anyone else notice this? I can't seem to fix it back to how it was.

Are you using a launcher or Good Lock?

I'm using the default Samsung Launcher.

Using buttons as navigation you cant hide them, if you use full gestures then it will be hidden.

I did have the option to hide the nav buttons and show them by swiping up. That was working for the last few months, and stopped yesterday.

I'm not sure how , this was available in Oreo 8.0 but not on Andriod 9.0 Pie
