Can't message any of my contacts

Hi,

Hope someone can help.

I am unable to message any of my contacts (in my contacts list) as pressing on the small envelope icon next to each contact does not take me to the messaging area. The area of the icon does flash (to indicate that I have pressed it) but nothing else happens. This used to work without a hitch but has now stopped working, how would I get this functionality back?

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately this has not resolved the issue. The envelope icon does flash when clicked onto but nothing else happens and the message functionality does not appear.

Funnily enough, the only way I can text someone is if they have already texted me. I am able to reply to someones texts from the messaging icon.

Is the stock Messaging app currently selected as your default app for SMS/MMS, or do you have any other messaging apps installed, like Hangouts, Textra, Chomp SMS, etc.?

How would I check to see if the Messaging app is selected as the default? I get the feeling that this may be the problem.

Go to the App Manager, tap Menu, then Reset All App Preferences.
