Android Central Question

I recently got a 64 GB MicroSD and formatted it so now music, and most of gallery will go to SD card automatically. However, when I pull up the MicroSD Card on Settings > Device Maintenance > Storage there's a slot for Apps that's empty. This makes me think I can move apps to microSD and unfortunately when I open app settings for any app there's no option for change storage. I tried looking up a video and the app settings page has the option of change storage on other Samsung Smartphones, but not the J3. I just want to debunk my theory and see if it is possible to move apps to microSD.

The "option" is set by the app developer, and most these days are either turning it off, to prevent having to explain, over and over, why the app won't move, or why it won't work when it's moved - or the "developer" is using some app developing app that develops apps that can't be moved, because the developer who developed the "developer app" can't know in advance whether some function the user adds when creating an app won't work from the card.

Google used to have a warning to not move widgets to the card because they won't work. I guess they got tired of "why not" emails from people who wouldn't understand the answer, so they just gave up, and left it to the developers and sites like this one to handle the questions.

So don't count on moving apps to the SD card any more.
