Can't play movies from Gauntlet Node

Whenever I choose an application such as mx player to play the movies whether it is a Blu Ray or DVD it won't play it. Can anyone help?

can you you tel us more. what phone. what OS, what file, what file format, where is the file. how are you playing it?

Thank you very much for your reply. It is a Galaxy tab 2 7 inch. Android 4.0.4
I have used Slysoft to rip my movies onto a hard drive it does this without changing anything on the file so the files will be exactly as they were put on the disc minus REC etc. The funny thing is when I saved on of the movies onto a micro SD card I could play it but now they are on a hard drive wifi with Gauntlet Node they won't play. The Galaxy sees the files and I can select them but they just won't play. I am trying to use MX player. If you need any more info please ask and I will do my best to tell you. Thank you once again for your help.
