Can't see contacts under dialer.

Used to be able to start typing names in the phone dialer and it would search the contacts.

For some reason I now don't see all the contacts when doing this. Its missing names.

When checking the contacts tab and typing name in its fine.

Anyone else getting this issue / know how to fix?

I'm running on android 7.0.

I've just worked how to fix this. Under contacts organise data, rebuild index.
Working again!

Strange as I still continue to lose contacts from the dialler view and have to rebuild to get them back, so something going wrong.

I loaded Oreo using firmware finder and so far its been OK.

I have the exact same problem. It started aprox a month ago.

I have Honor 8 (FRD-L09), original-official firmware 7.0 with 5.0 emui. Original dialer, no root.

I have around ~2000 contacts from two different google accounts.

After I reindex, it is working but only for a few hours and after that, I have to resync again. The contact section always find every contact. The dialer's T9 what is now working.

Tried to clear the cache and also clear all data of the dialer but it didn't fix my problem.

I have this phone for almost a year now and I don't know why did it start this behavour now. It was working fine until recently!

Do you have any info on this? This is bugging me so much... I don't understand how it is possible that this problem only occured since a few months. I didn't have this problem eralier. How many contact do you have?

All I can say it the upgrade to android 8. 0 has fixed it. So far so good anyway.

I had about 300 contacts across 3 accounts. If you've not got the 8.0 upgrade yet you could try firmware finder. The firmware dated 23/1 (for mha-l09 and mha-l29) should be approved for use on these models.

I have an Honor V8 with Android 7.0 and 3 google accounts.
And I always have to rebuild index every day. Very annoying!
