Can't see contents of some folders when connected to windows 8 pc, ie if I open my comics folder I can see all of my CBR files right away. If I open my movies folder its blank, no avi files. The kicker is if I copy and past the .avi files on the phone then past them to another folder, ie the books folder, it shoes the .avi files when I look for them while connected tovm PC. Any suggestions???

Do any other files show up in the Movies folder? How about mp4 files? Or if you just put some random document file there, like a PDF?

No, at least not mp4 or even txt files. The only one that shows up is Instagram movies I've put there. Its not the biggest issue, just annoying.

I've noticed that as well. It's as though the phone has two different places to look for user generated storage, but merges them to make it look as though that's just one when you view on the phone. One file does get shared with computer, while the other does not. You will probably have to move the file on the phone using a file explorer into the folder that the phone shares with the computer... which I believe is 'emulated'.

That is what I've been doing, using es file explorer. So strange though. Just Dont get why it does this.
