Can't shutdown, need help.

I've been running cm7 alpha 3 for a long time now and haven't had very many issues. But this morning I pressed the power button to wake the screen and it seems the touchscreen has stopped responding. What does that mean? I can't reboot or shut it down... Is there another way of shutting it down that I am not aware of? Is there a way a can run an adb command or something, I can't get usb debugging on obviously. I just need it to reboot so I can use it again =/

Thank you! It worked, I've never had to do that before I'll have to remember that for next time. Does this apply to all/most androids?

It worked for TP not sure about other android devices..
