I used to be able to use ES File Explorer to browse to my PC, select a video or song and play it over the network. For some reason this stopped working. I keep getting a message saying the file type is not supported. I've tried using MX Player and it says there is a network error.
I think I've narrowed it down to the fact that my PC is Windows 8. I tried to do the same thing with the same videos and songs on a Windows 7 machine with the same network and sharing settings and they played fine like they used to. Tried it again on a Windows 8 laptop and getting the error again. Any suggestions as to why Windows 8 would be breaking this streaming function?
