Can't text or mms during a call.

Anyone else run into this issue? I've searched forums but couldn't find answer. For some reason I can't send or receive texts or mms while on the phone and it doesn't matter if I'm on 4G 3g or wifi.

I just made a call and while on the call I sent a text to myself, no problems. Was on wifi. And when I'm on the phone I get the beep in my ear if I've gotten a text or email.

Go into menu, settings, more settings, scroll down to mobile networks, select that and see if use packet data is selected, if not select it. I'm not sure if it's gonna help, but I thought i seen something recently in reference to this issue.

Yes, there are programs that emulate that, and will allow you to text from a WiFi tablet, but they are invariably connecting to a phone, or carrier to do it.

You phone doesn't use 4G or WiFi to send a text...It uses the actual phone, ala CDMA radio to do that. If you're on the phone, that radio is busy already. You can't send a text over WiFi or 4G. Google it. While there are programs that emulate such, and allow you to text from a WiFi tablet, invariably, they connect to a carrier, or your own phone to do so.

Your using a Verizon phone and can't send a text while on the phone? I just retested it. I called my girlfriend while she was sitting next to me and while both of us were in the call we sent multiple texts to each other and other friends without a problem. I even turned off wifi and was on 3G only.

I also sent her a photo while on a call without a problem. The only thing is that she couldn't download the photo until she was off the call unless she was using wifi.

Yeah idk its strange... while I'm on a call I can't send or receive texts until call is over. Moment I hang up texts come through. Upon further thinking on it could have something to do with my number and possible feature missing because this happened to me on my other s3. Even after hard resets.

dude i wish i could help. Its really strange that you cant get a text while in a call.

I would just like to say i had an issue this evening where I couldn't call out or text or receive calls (although I could receive texts). I tried everything, except one thing. I didn't turn on my sync. As it turns out earlier I had stopped a sync while it was in progress and it ended up creating an error that I couldn't see. I just turned my sync back on let it run, and poof everything started working again. I don't know why this happened but I do know its working again so all is well.
