Hello, I got the HTC one today, just a few hours ago, actually. The first thing I did, as I do with most electronics was drain the battery completely, then recharge it to full. I don't know if this is still recommended, but I figured I may as well to be safe. I drained the battery completely, then plugged it in to charge. It's been there for about 15 minutes, but I can't figure out how to turn it have on now, please help!

I suggest leaving it on the charger for longer than 15 minutes, if the battery has been fully drained. Is the led notification lit up amber?

I don't really know what the "led notification" is, but there is a light blinking through one of the speaker holes, and it is amber

The orange blinking notification light implies that the battery is not charged enough to power up.

Ah, well I suppose that would be why it isn't turning on, huh? xD
Thank you for the help, according to my research, it should turn green when it's ready, right?

It will turn green when the battery has reached full charge, however, the orange light will stop blinking and turn solid when it has enough charge to power up.

The blinking is slowing down over time, to me, that seems like a bad sign, but I don't really know, do you?

Can't say I've had that happen. I would leave it on the charger for about 4 hours and then reassess.

So it's been charging for about four hours now, and it has made visible progress, the blinks are about 30 seconds apart. I spoke to a friend who owns the phone as well and he said it takes about 3 - 4 hours to charge to full, so seeing as how it's been charging for four hours, and still can't turn on because the battery is too low, I'm starting to get a little concerned... I'm using a black berry charger for it, the plug seems to fit in perfect, so I'm assuming it is compatible, do you think that might be the issue?

I'll try to take a picture of it using my computer, and attach it, if that is possible...

Did you purchase the phone from a carrier, or used?

It should not take 4 hours to gain enough power to turn on. I've see repeated reports of users letting their ONE die and it not coming back on. I used to work in a Sprint service center and we would have the same problem with the original Evo. All we would do is take the battery out and put it on an external charger to jump start it. Obviously with the ONE that isn't an option. Leave it over night and if it's still blinking in the morning you need to exchange the device. Phones with internal batteries should never be allowed to die. Newer batteries don't have memory so you do not need to run the battery down before charging. I try to never let my battery go below 40 percent and the battery last longer as a result. Let us know what happens.

Sent from my HTC ONE fully converted to the Google Play Edition

Okay, I'll do that, thank you to both of you for all of your help, I'll let you guys know what happens in the morning

It was purchased directly from a Bell store

In that case, you should have a warranty. I second what the post above says. If by tomorrow morning, the led is still blinking, exchange the device. The led should have stopped blinking shortly after plugging it in, normally a few minutes or so.

I have a old basic Samsung phone charger and it won't carge my ONE at all because it doesn't have enough volts. Maybe that's the case for your phone, the charger may not be strong enough to charge it, try changing to the HTC charger that was provided. The ONE itself takes 3 and.a half maybe 4 hours to charge dead from full.

Unfortunately, I wasn't given a charger with the phone, but I still think that the phone would be able to provide it with at least enough energy to power up, especially seeing as how the phone is off

Make sure whatever charger you use has an output of 5 volts and a max draw of 1 amp. It you use the wrong configuration, you could not charge the battery as it is supposed to or you could trigger overheat protection, thus it will stop charging..

I woke up this morning, and the blinking had stopped ( or had become too infrequent to notice, I watched for at least a minute ). I tried turning it on, and again, no luck. I just switched the charger to my brother's, I will wait a few ( 30 ) minutes to see if that does anything.

Sounds good. Please informs us of how it goes. It seems very odd that you didn't receive a charger with a brand new phone from a carrier. If you can get it up and going, replacement oem chargers aren't too expensive online.
