You can use the NRT to put 6.0 on your device now running 4.4.4. I'm not sure why people think you can't. Yes, updates are incremental and are made for one specific OS version to another, but going from KitKat to Marshmallow requires you to flash the whole factory image. That's not an update. It's a complete replacement of your device's current OS. It doesn't need to be done incrementally.

If you want Marshmallow but you are that worried about it, just do a backup of your data first.

I'm having this exact same problem. I'm not rooted. I am on lollipop and trying to update to marshmallow. It just keeps getting stuck at rebooting to install
