Cant update

I have a htc one m8 and my carrier is at&t. It is currently in 4.2.2 and I cant find out how to update it. I've looked it up but i dont see the update section is about here is all I see

You are actually missing two options, Updates and Errors Reporting.

I have attached a screenshot of how that menu should be.

Man, AT&T truly like to have full control over their customers devices.

Still, I think that you should be able to update by using a computer.

Right above the "About" selection in the Settings menu is "AT&T Software Update". Try that.

I have verizon, but I agree with panhandler, the place to check for updates is in the "settings" menu. You are going one menu too deep. Back out of "About" and the system update option should be right above it.

With AT&T it's easy, not matter which phone you have. Go to a Device Support Center (ask at your local AT&T store if you don't know where the nearest one is - it's in the back of the store, and might be in your local store and you never noticed it) and ask them if they could please update your phone, since you never got an update notice and there's no update choice in About Device. (If they have an update for the M8, which they probably do, they will.) The only problem is going in when you're 9th on line. Bring some reading material and be prepared to stand for a while.
