Cant use custom notifications for text msgs

Hi, got this phone yesterday and im generally pleased with it. One of the issues I have is that I cant assign a custom mp3 to text msg notificatiolns. Ive tried, ringdroid, rings extended, file managers etc but cannot do it.

Anyone have any success?

Either use GoSMS or Ringo Pro. Stock won't let you do this. You have to have a 3rd party app which is easy enough.

Connect your phone to your computer via USB, them take the file and drop it in the notification folder. It should appear on the phone where you want it once you do that

I was messing around with Zedge and changed my default notification sound but noticed that although it worked for email I was still getting the normal HTC sound for sms messages. Turns out that the sms notification is not actually the default sound, you have to go into settings from within the messages app itself and do it from there.
