I got a xoom from a fren. When I got it from him it was working BUT he has his data. So I did a factory reset. It did restart BUT after showing "DUAL CORE" screen, it took me to the main page where it says WELCOME and has the android guy BUT when I choose my language, so i selected the language that i want but after that I can do anything. The start button will be grey before I touch, when i touch the "START" it would turn blue BUT IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING.

So I press the button for a few seconds, and start the recovery mode and this is the message i see;
ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.2.0.0 (Solarnz-R4c-100611-1150)
E: Cant open /dev/block/mmcblk1p3
(no such file or directory:
E: cant mount /cache/recovery/command
E: cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E: cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E: cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log

Please help........

Thanks in Advance

Kelvin

You screwed it up. Search team rogue cm9 on Google get the rom and gapps. Put them on the internal SD card. Boot into clockwork wipe data wipe cache go to advanced wipe delvcache. Now install from zip and pick the rom. Install gapps right after. when complete reboot. What happened was your friend had a custom rom and didn't tell you. If you still have issues we'll walk you through complete stock method.

^ He beat me too it. Damn.... took too long to write. ;-) Well, I don't agree with his rom choice and I'm not sure you screwed anything up... yet.

Well... first, you should talk to your friend and ask him what's up. He rooted the device and should be able to help.

If you can reach him, start fresh. Wipe all the data.

"wipe data/factory reset"

"wipe cache partition"

Got to "advanced" and "wipe Dalvik cache"

+++Go back+++

"reboot system now"

Let it think. ;-)

If this fails, go back into recovery and look in "install zip from sdcard." If you have an sdcard. There's probably a rom and gapps on there. It's what your friend was running. Reflash them both. That should work, unless he was using a crap rom.

If you don't have an sdcard or it seems you're running a crap rom...

Get an sdcard and download the latest Eos rom and gapps. Put them in the root of the sdcard. Place the sdcard in the XOOM. And "install zip from sdcard" again. Rom first, then gapps.

Eos you say? I'll give it a whirl. I only tried cm9 so it was my first choice aha.
