can't watch on tv

My TV has hdmi input and with older galaxy's I can plug them in to my hdmi cable and watch on my TV but it won't work with my tablet or phone (galaxy s6)
Is there a fix for this?

Welcome to Android Central! According to the official MHL website (the HDMI adapter for Samsung devices uses the MHL standard), neither the Tab A nor the S6 are supported: MHL® – Devices. You'd have to consider something like a Chromecast.
