Car Audio problem

I don't think anyone is over analizing anything. But when you talk about people being "responsible" or make it seem like it's sooooo wrong to talk while driving, some people can get offended. I talk, text and do everything on my phone.......WHILE DRIVING. Never came close to an accident. But I also know that not everyone can do that. Is it recomended to do that, of course not. Is it a law in some states, yes it is. But I know I can, and my experience has proven that. You have some people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. THOSE are the people that shouldn't be text, talking ect. while driving. There are also people who get into accidents WITHOUT using their phone......for whatever reason.

Past and current experience doesn't predict or guarantee future experience.

I can do it too, that doesn't mean that my concentration is no longer "on the road." My attention would be on the text or call and not the road where it needs to be.

Your argument is like saying "I drive drunk on a regular basis and not had a problem, so therefore I can keep doing it without a problem." It'll be a sad day for someone if you cause an accident that kills someone.

Prediction? Are you serious?? Really? Who said anything about a guarantee? I'm just saying what I can do! Doesn't make me any less of a person because I can do something without a problem, that other people cannot. I know exactly what my argument is saying. And you're right, that is a good anology. Now i'm not condoning drinking and driving, but I know people that do drink and drive, and have never had a problem. Hell, I even had a personal friend who was killed by a drunk driver. I would never do it, but I also would never judge anyone who does or has. The fact is, some people can drink, text or whatever else their little heart desires while driving, but most people can't. And no one on this earth can't judge someone else based on THEIR opinion on what is right and wrong.

elemerica you need to stop trying to lecturer ppl here. No one wants to hear it and its not the place. go to the off topic forum and start an "over protective mothers against all distractive activities including cell phone use on the road" thread and let us try and figure out our phones technical issues.
Thanks bye.

Anywho, getting back to the original post. I came across the same thing with my phone. I found that if you go to settings>call>tty mode, you should be able to change that (i forget which one) and have the mic work on your phone, and the sound coming thru the speakers. Try that and see what happens

will try this later thank u....i already ordered that adapter though ha

If YOU have a problem with people texting and driving, fine keep your mouth shut and keep you opinion to yourself, because everyone has an a$$hole! I'm done with this discussion...

You explicitly stated "never came close to an accident" which also implies that you can and will continue to use your phone because you've "never come close to an accident." You're saying that because it hasn't happened, it also won't happen because "you can do what others cannot." The thousands of people who have caused fatalities while texting/talking had done it in the past and "never came close to an accident" as well. You're no more special than they are.

When someone you love is the victim of something so senseless and stupid, come back and look at these posts.

I think it's obvious this subject doesn't sit well with me, and it's with good reason. No one here needs to know exactly what that reason is, but just know that if the day ever comes that you end up causing an innocent persons death because of your selfish actions, no one will feel sorry for you and what you get to live with.

Noted.....moving on

I shouldn't have even fueled the fire. Not the point of the thread. My apologies. But, I agree with OP. The speaker situation isn't good. I haven't come across a fix yet, but will add it if I do.

I had the same issue. Looking for a solution, I found this.

Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit. It plugs directly into the aux input on your car stereo.

Amazon.com: Scosche motorMOUTH Plug and Play Bluetooth Handsfree and Streaming Audio Car Kit: Cell Phones & Accessories

I have been using for a few days it it works Awesome! TB connects automatically as soon as I turn this device on. I use Vlingo and Pandora and the sound is as good as plugging directly into Aux. Only problem would be if your Aux port on your car stereo is not in a convenient spot as this is the mic as well. NO WIRES!

My AUX input is deep inside a covered cubby in the console. Definitely not a good place for the mic. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Seems odd to me that the phone will not do this without a special cable. Coming from the Droid and Droid X both of which allow you use the aux cable to hear someone on car speaker and speak into the phone as a mic. It didn't occur to me that the Thunderbolt wouldn't until I got in the car, hooked in the cable, made a call, said hello, only to have the person on the other end saying, hello, hello..........and not hearing me. Hope they do develop a fix for this quickly.

I had the same problem with Fascinate but I don't seem to have this problem with Thunderbolt. I got distracted by the driving while talking debate and I'm not sure if this is what we are talking about now but when my phone is connected to my car stereo via Bluetooth I still have to use the aux audio cable for music and other media from the phone including the navigation audio as my stereo does not support a2dp. But when the call comes in the stereo goes into the Bluetooth mode and I can take the call even though the aux is still plugged in. With the Fascinate I had to unplug the aux cable before the incoming call went to the stereo. I don't know if this is what we are talking about or normal handsfree use via the phone's loudspeaker.

last part is right.

when you have the aux plugged in to the headset jack and u get a call the speaker phone and normal mics ( tbolt assumes you are using a headset with built in mic connected) for calling stay off on the device its self. so u have to not only answer the call and put it in speaker phone but unplug the aux cable. its a bit annoying and unsafe.

the off topic stuff did go a bit to far..and seemed to get kind of personal.... lets try and stay away from all that.

Hello everyone Im new to Android coming from Windows Mobile. I use Car Home and have GPS maps running with a music app running as well. With sound through my car speakers usinf an AUX cable. When there is a phone call I answer but the GPS and Music apps do not mute. Is there a way to have apps mute for iincoming or out going calls.

I recently tried to use my phone (parked) with the aux plugged in to receive a call. it paused pandora and without the speaker phone on it worked fine and with the speaker phone on it worked as well.

was there an update that fixed this that we didnt know about?
I know its weird.
