The thing about the official car dock is that it's $65. That's a chunk of cash. I think stick with an aftermarket mount like the Arkon Mega Grip, is does just as good a job at holding my phone for me while I drive, and it's much cheaper.

Someone posted earlier that the Arkon dash mount was only $20, which is a steal for 2 mounts.

You have to go to a Sprint store and give them the physical SKU number KPH6786Q and they have to order it for you. After I heard about it I went to the Sprint store and asked... The manager/owner of the third party Sprint store I went to had no clue what I was talking about and said neither Sprint nor HTC had made any announcement on an "OFFICIAL" HTC/EVO car mount/dock....

I gave him the SKU and he looked it up and sure enough they are in stock in the warehouse for $59.99 plus tax... He thanked me for telling him and is giving me 10% off mine and ordered some for the store... Said they would be in mid to late week.....

He said they are in the system and there are no restrictions on sales... He told me with phones they can usually order them way in advance of the release but A. won't get them until a few days before release and B. are told they can't sell them until a certain time and date.... With the car mount it has no such restrictions so as of right now you can order and get one from the Sprint inventory and if you call Sprints 800# and give them the SKU they will play dumb and swear there is no such thing...

Well I'm glad to see the official HTC Evo car dock is finally coming out. Looks slick. I'm going to wait for more reviews on this before I pull the trigger. I still haven't seen or heard anyone try it with a case on, like Seidio's Innocase II Surface case.

I think questions about a case are very crucial. No one has mentioned if it works with one or not. I have the body glove case and am very curious about this. Also, how does it plug in? I am guessing just a standard cigarette lighter plug?

From what i gather, you can't even use a silicone case with the dock. When I get mine sometime this week ill post pics and answer any questions I can for you guys

Just got my dock in today. Took four days to ship from the warehouse. It does not come with a charger of any sort, and the device will not fit into the dock with ANY case at all.
