Hey guys - I'm the developer of SyndicateROM Frozen on the Epic 4G, and I'm the one who removed CIQ.
IQ Agent Service is from Google. It is not the same as carrier IQ.
Very wrong. The IQ Agent service has absolutely nothing to do with Google - it is Carrier IQ. The IQ Agent service starts as android.iqd as others pointed out in this thread.
Disabling iqmsd in the kernel is not enough, as another user noticed, to disable Carrier IQ - it is a start, but only a very limited one. I can't speak for you folks on the Optimus S, but on the Epic 4G, Carrier IQ and its calls are located in ext.jar, services.jar, framework.jar, libiq_client.so, libiq_service.so, and iqmsd. More information on what CIQ does, and how it was removed, is available
here (see bottom of second, and third, posts).
Keep in mind that I and my team (the Android Creative Syndicate) are in the process of updating SyndicateROM Frozen to 1.0.1, and refining the removal process. For other devices, we currently have confirmation of the software being on the Moment, Intercept, Evo, Hero, and the Optimus S. The removal process is different per-device, so for all you devs and users, YMMV.
If any of you would like to contact me or my team directly, feel free to join us at irc.fossnet.info #acs-users.
