Case is not PMA wireless charging compatible (spigen)?

Re: Case is not PMA wireless charging compatible (spigen)

Yeah that one is too thick. Try the Liquid air case from spigen. That worked for me

Re: Case is not PMA wireless charging compatible (spigen)

I purchased a spigen case for my new edge, installed it and it did not charge, I have multiple PMA chargers all work perfectly with my blackberries, as soon as i took the case off it triggered. Anyone have any success with cases and pma chargers?

Thanks

I have this case and it works on both pma charging pads I have. I bought two of the iPhone 4 case adapter mats. The mat has spaces for two devices and it usually works better on the right side.

I've had no luck with the neo hybrid case.

I tried both sides and it is very temperamental. The older PMA duracell will not work at all, the newer dual pad is a hit or miss if you place it exactly right. Just not the kind of consistency i was hoping for unlike my blackberry which is 100% all the time. I ordered another case and will test but I'm afraid without the lack of a strong magnet the user will have to make reference marks so they can be sure it is on correctly to charge consistently.

I've used this case on occasion as needed with my Edge, and had no problem on the several wireless chargers I've tried. (OEM Samsung charger, Duracell Powermat, Aukey, etc.)

Same case I have but it is not very consistent.

How do you guys who use Qi chargers feel compared to PMA and is is less temperamental? Which Qi do you guys like and use, I'm leaning on trying a 3 coil to see how well it works.

thanks

I am using this case and it doesnt affect my qi charger... I'd assume the PMA and qi charger shouldn't be that much different since both are using induction to charge.

I do notice that this phone require more precise alignment before it will start charging properly than my nexus 5 tho

Yes it is extremely sensitive to position and lack of a magnet on PMA pad is part of the problem

Re: Case is not PMA wireless charging compatible (spigen)

I use the Spigen Neo Hybrid CC and it works on 1/2 of my PMA charges. They are much more difficult to place the unit correctly versus the Samsung QI charger. Thinking of ordering a couple of CHOE QI Stadium chargers.

Re: Case is not PMA wireless charging compatible (spigen)

I've never used qi chargers, do they also rely on magnets for placement? or do they double/triple up the coils for more coverage. I have seen some instructions for qi chargers stating you must slowly insert the phone in the cradle after a second when it has detected wireless charging before fully resting it. Comparing this phones ability to wireless charge to my other devices it is a shame it is such a hassle with a case added.
