Case or no case?

Hello folks, longtime lurker, seldom poster here.

I've never been one to use a case on my phones, and I decided to get a very small form-factor matte rubber case off of amazon for my GNex. At first glance it's not bulky at all, but when it's on the device I feel that it really adds some bulk to it, and it's somewhat cumbersome.

I used to have an EVO 4g and I used a Zagg invis. shield on it, but I really didn't like the feel of it, the texture that it added (a somewhat rubbery texture that I feel attracted all sorts of pocket lint and fingerprints).

Maybe I'm too picky, but are there any alternatives for protecting the body of the phone that isn't going to add too much bulk, or aren't in the form of a glorified sticker?

It really depends how you define things like bulk, form, etc. Rearth makes a "slim" case, but the chances of that surviving some decent drops is probably slim to none (also depends on the angle, height of fall, etc.). It does, however, look good.

The issue with this phone is a fairly odd one--its shape. It makes a lot of cases look odd, and in turn, there are not many cases that really "sing" with this device.

Personally, I have an Otterbox Commuter, sock, sleeve, and am patiently awaiting my Rearth Slim case.

I'm personally not fond of cases, yet I use one. I have one of the cases that Verizon sells with a flip out leg so it can stand up while I'm watching video. It also creates a better method of holding the phone while taking videos.

Using a case also makes it less likely to drop the thing.

Life is full of compromises.

It fits the LTE Nexus without and with the extended battery.

It's super slim and feels great in the hand.

This is the only phone I've ever had a case on for an extended period of time. I dropped it in the parking lot, and two corners got dinged up.... so I put a case on. Think I did that out of order.

I'm using an Incipio. It's alright I guess. At least it doesn't slip out of my hand anymore. Not really a fan of cases in general though. Rather be naked.

Otterbox Commuter here, and it is a really good compromise between protection and added bulk.
