About two weeks ago I received Rearth's Ringke case to review for our beloved Thunderbolt. I'm not really a big silicone fan (due to tackiness), or case fan (due to size), but wow, a week later I found the perfect case for me...
It's a real clean looking and fitting case. In fact, it fits perfect. All the openings are accounted for and cleanly cut out. It's simple how I like things, yet if you look close it has a little style too. You can see cleaner pics and more angles on their site (link at the top).
If you don't like the power or volume keys on the Thunderbolt then this is a great case for you. As you can see, the case has built in button notches, and the fit is great. I liked the stock buttons, but I like them better with the case on. The buttons are a bit more pronounced. They have a good solid feel to it when you are pushing them. They just simple work great.
The case is made of silicone, but isn't tacky at all. It has a nice rubbery feel that is grippy without being too grippy to where it sticks to your pocket as you try to pull it out. It doesn't stick at all. Pocket lint is a non-issue. It's also nice in the padding department without being too thick. You can actually push your finger into it a little, so I believe there is good protection if there for a drop. Also, the case removes, and goes back on very easily.
A couple other things I really like are the way it completely surrounds the earphone and front facing camera. A lot of cases only go across the top which is less protective. And I really like how the bottom front goes up to the main capacitive buttons. This hides any light leak issues and the slight tip of my screen protector that was getting a little dirty where it barely overhangs.
For $16.99 in it a good value, and while I didn't know what I would be reviewing going in, I come away highly impressed. So much so that I will soon be buying another color. I honestly like it that much. I have a dusty Seidio Innocase II Surface Case to prove as much.
Thanks for reading! I'd be happy to answer any questions...
