I moved this from the General News forum to the General Carrier Discussion forum.

I'm on T-Mobile.

Most of us in the US choose carriers based on domestic coverage and cost. International roaming isn't as important to most. T-Mobile just happens to check off both boxes for many.

I'm on Mint Mobile, a MVNO that uses T-Mobile towers.

Because of International roaming?
International roaming is certainly a really nice perk for the higher tier T-Mobile plans. I get free texting and fairly high-speed mobile data in most countries I would want to visit, and calling rates aren't too bad. I much prefer this to having to swap SIMs, which means telling everyone to call a different phone number if they want to reach me.

Verizon Global Choice International calling was described to me (by a Verizon rep) as an unlimited talk, text and data option while traveling in many countries. It's included with their Unlimited Ultimate plan. Also, as I travel from one country to the next, the unlimited talk text & data follow the phone to that new country. I am limited to 300 minutes of talk FROM THE U.S. to my 'preferred country'.
This sounds too good to be true. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I switched from T-Mobile being with them for over 10 years to Mint mobile. Why pure unlimited for 180 bucks for a year. That's 360 for my wife and me. I was paying around 2k a year with T-Mobile
