Cases for the HTC One

I am wanting this case, but can't seem to find it being sold by anyone.

Just a heads up, but carbon fiber will block your phones signal. I know this because I had a carbon fiber case for my OG EVO and when I put it on the phone the signal strength dropped around 1-3 bars. The case looked awesome on the phone but also made the phone not perform as it should and was ultimately a waste of money.

Interesting you say that because iam considering a carbon fiber case and heard similar but the company that makes the case state that "signal strength will NOT be affected"

Case iam looking at is the incipio dualpro cf

Just going to recommend again the HTC hardshell double dip case. Nice protection, no bulk, and nice grip.

Just bought a white glossy case-mate barely there case. I have the Speck grip for the more adventurous days lol. I like the barely there. Its slim as hell but has a lip and all the corners are well protected. It also looks damn nice on the One

I like how you have "adventurous" days with your phone. :)

Seems like Otterbox makes the only case that has a belt clip/holster.

Does anyone know of any good places to buy cases in-person beyond Best Buy, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile? Are there other national chains that are carrying them? Thanks.

Was Exact-Deal your seller? I bought it when it said that it'll be in stock by April 29 and now the item says in stock on May 13. Curious to know if the revision is occurring now or between that two week period.

Nvm: "We are aware the issue of IR Blaster is being blocked. Update version will be released and ship on May 13th."

Wonder if I'll have to cancel and reorder.

Exact Deal was indeed the seller I used and they indicated the ones they shipped were the revised version. I assume they are padding their turn around time. They previously told me that the order was intentionally being held to ship the revised versions.

Frys Electronics carries the Incipio cases

I've had no luck at any local stores finding other stores carrying anything yet.

When you say white btw are you referring to the sides and 2 white lines on the back?

I never really thought about it. I'm not even sure if the white is a coating or not. If it isn't and colors do bleed, then liquid paper could be the cure-all. I'm more concerned of the screen breaking (especially since it's not replaceable).

Yes--the white "in between" bits, including that back stripe. I believe it's fairly porous. For the Otterbox, I presume it's not dyed but rather injection molded, so the chances that it will stain the white are slim. But others? Who knows.

Here are closeup pics of the Poetic Atmosphere case in grey/clear. Yes it's the design that blocks the IR blaster, but the Amazon seller (Exact-Deal) told me that they will ship me the new model at no cost in mid-May. I also ordered the bumper case and they're going to send that one too at around the same time. I was told to just keep the old case... so even though I'm having to wait a bit, I'm very happy with the way they (and Poetic) are handling the situation. Hopefully they're not taking a big loss on this.

Anyway, as for the case, it's VERY tight fitting and pretty darn hard to get off once it's on. The plastic is fairly transparent, so the details of the phone show through very well. It's just too bad that the shiny edge of the phone is covered up as that is one of its sexiest parts. Also note that the sides are clear so the white edges show through as well.

As for the new model, I suspect they will take the cutout design used for the data port and use it for the power button. It will probably result in having to press the button by reaching from the back side, but that's pretty natural when holding it in your hand. Also, I echo the comments about the covered power button being difficult to press, as you have to either press really hard or press in the center with the tip of your finger or fingernail. I've gotten used to it by now, but am looking forward to the new design. If you want to see the case without the phone in it, check out my previous post. Lastly, sorry for taking up so much space w/ these pics. I wish there was a way to reduce the size of the gargantuan thumbnails. :-\

wow this case looks pretty good. I just looked at there website it says may 13 they'll ship out the new version. Got a question though, does it add any bulk to the phone? Judging from what I see it doesn't.

OH btw anybody get any different color they want to post up.

It adds a little bit of bulk, but it's pretty minimal IMO. Then again, I started using it on day 1 so I'm not used to carrying it w/o it. You'll mainly notice the extra thickness on the edges where the grey grips are at, but personally I don't mind because I found the phone by itself to be pretty slippery. Also, the grip edges aren't very tacky so it's still easy to slip in and out of a pocket, but still grippy enough to hold on to.

Question which might have already been answered but...Does the double dip case affect the speaks at all? Im thinking of getting a case that DOESN'T cover them.. any thoughts?

I havent got the cover personally but others that own the case have said it affects the speakers in no way what so ever :)
