Cases for the HTC One

Question which might have already been answered but...Does the double dip case affect the speaks at all? Im thinking of getting a case that DOESN'T cover them.. any thoughts?

It sounded muffled to me but at least one other person said they didn't muffle. See if a sprint store near you has them and try it out.

Currently using the Seidio surface Black with the kickstand. I love the material they use on their cases. It is a hard shell, but it feels soft to the touch with a slight grippiness. Honestly, I'm not sure how much I will use the kickstand, we'll see. It does add a bit of a hump on the rear and because of that, it balances on this hump when you set it down on a table. The phone can spin and rock around. This is resolved, obviously, by laying the phone down with the screen facing down.

Currently enjoying my new Seidio Surface Case with kickstand: SEIDIO | SURFACE Case & Holster Combo with Metal Kickstand for HTC One
Yes the kickstand adds a little weight but it's perfect for me as i can use it in the evening with the Alarm Clock Plus app to show a dim nightime clock and an alarm in the morning while it's charging. My son calls it the Dad Holster but I just can't carry a phone around in my pants pocket.
Only bad - my free car dock just became worthless to me as NO case will allow the phone to fit in the HTC car dock.

No. No muffle at all. Clean, crisp, and loud. I blast it when in shower every morning and it sounds perfect. I love the case.

Here are closeup pics of the Poetic Atmosphere case in grey/clear. Yes it's the design that blocks the IR blaster, but the Amazon seller (Exact-Deal) told me that they will ship me the new model at no cost in mid-May. I also ordered the bumper case and they're going to send that one too at around the same time. I was told to just keep the old case... so even though I'm having to wait a bit, I'm very happy with the way they (and Poetic) are handling the situation. Hopefully they're not taking a big loss on this.

Anyway, as for the case, it's VERY tight fitting and pretty darn hard to get off once it's on. The plastic is fairly transparent, so the details of the phone show through very well. It's just too bad that the shiny edge of the phone is covered up as that is one of its sexiest parts. Also note that the sides are clear so the white edges show through as well.

As for the new model, I suspect they will take the cutout design used for the data port and use it for the power button. It will probably result in having to press the button by reaching from the back side, but that's pretty natural when holding it in your hand. Also, I echo the comments about the covered power button being difficult to press, as you have to either press really hard or press in the center with the tip of your finger or fingernail. I've gotten used to it by now, but am looking forward to the new design. If you want to see the case without the phone in it, check out my previous post. Lastly, sorry for taking up so much space w/ these pics. I wish there was a way to reduce the size of the gargantuan thumbnails. :-\

Might have to get one of these really like the look of it..

Well just a side not looks like I will wait until May they have a updated version coming out.

We are aware the issue of IR Blaster is being blocked. Update version will be released and ship on May 13th.

Also wanted to share a tip, if you buy your case, extended battery pack, or screen protectors basically for anything..... if you happen to click one day shipping and you submit order.. wait a day and pull up order confirmation. If it says the item is coming at a day thats two or more days away from the actual date you ordered, u can call amazon and the will refund. On my case i ordered sunday morning and the order conf that monday said it would arrive by wed or thur... clearly that is not one day shipping so i called and the re-imbursted my 18 $ one day shipping so the case only costed me the case amount.

Just got my Otterbox Commuter case, and i agree that I didnt want to hide away the beauty of this phone but i just felt to worried holding the phone and placing it down gently to actually use it. Coming from the thick Evo 3D, this phone is svelte and feels easy to mishandle. Though with the Commuter (Black on Black) I feel that I can leave it out place it down and not have to worry about it. I would recommend a case for this phone, but now seeing the poetic cases, it does look sweet, though I would like to see how they will handle the Power button area. The Commuter I like cause it is cut out to allow easily sliding your finger over it and not having to try and get a fingernail press in there. Though I am also looking for a Seidio Sale so I can also have a kickstand case, i believe that the Otterbox Commuter case is a great case.

Do any of these cases have that brushed soft touch feel like the DNA has? I think the double dip does, but I dont really want to cover the speakers.

Barely any. I'd say a touch, slight touch more than a cruzerlite and less than the otterbox or seidio.

The double dip has the dna feel and the speaker covers don't muffle at all.

I have always wanted to try them but I ordered Calrivue which should be here in a few days. The Sprint store put me on a free one of there's and it's already got a little whole and scratch on it and I was careful when phone was in purse or pocket I made sure it didn't rub up against something. I am going to start keeping my whole phone in a pouch then put it in my purse or pocket. My Sprint store threw in free cases for us too and I had a Otterbox Commuter on my LTE 1st Otterbox ever cause I always get Seidio which I love but l needed a case right away so I got Otterbox from Sprint with my car dock and saved 20% and then I ordered Seidio. Well they didn't have the colors we wanted on Sunday so he ordered them for us and UPS has them on a truck right now and I am waiting patiently and have to leave for work soon. I got another Commuter and my boyfriend got the Defender so he could clip it on his pants. He loves the Seidio Convert the best but for free he'll use the Defender for now. I like the Commuter for this phone my friend got a black one and it was nice. I want pink and white like I had before. :-)

Does anyone know of any good places to buy cases in-person beyond Best Buy, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile? Are there other national chains that are carrying them? Thanks.

There are three huge stores on Sacramento, CA called " The Accessorisers", they sell all kinds of accessories for handheld electronics. And thier prices are 1/3 to that of BB and Carriers, plus huge collection. I pay them a visit every once in a while...

wow this case looks pretty good. I just looked at there website it says may 13 they'll ship out the new version. Got a question though, does it add any bulk to the phone? Judging from what I see it doesn't.

OH btw anybody get any different color they want to post up.
This^ I wanna see the white version of this case on the silver htc one
