mobilereviewseh did a review of the Speck for iPhone 7 and teh screen shattered on a fall and that doesn't have the edge display like the Note does.

Speck Presidio Grip for the Note 8 does have good side protection as it did for the S8 plus.

The UAG Monarch and Pelican Protector both have good side glass protection for the Note 8.

Zizo Bolt has pretty good side protection as well. I really liked the case on my V20 so I decided to try it on my Note8, its definitely I nice solid case. I went with the all black version.

I can recommend Encased Rebel. At least the side edge raises as high as the edge screen. Doesn't sit below.

The Caseology Legion's sides are decently raised as well. Any higher and you'd lose edge functionality.

I have to disagree. I actually found two cases that raise like 3 mm above the edges and no edge functionality was lost. It is all about design. Unfortunately those two are made from filmsy materials I don't trust so can't recommend them.

Here is the picture of Encased Rebel. Barely any curved is sticking out of the case and that is because there is Whitestone Dome Glass on the screen. In my opinion most companies are making back covers not cases LOL. I am waiting for another promising case. Then I will pick a favourite and make a review of the winner.

Caseology Legion is a great case. I have it for the S8 Plus and Note 8. It's better than the Commuter I think. I don't use it because I have the Defender but I bought it because the case was out early and just in case my phone came early I already had a case.

This is about cases with raised edges. Show how much it is actually raised please. Your claim a raised edge would impair edge sensitivity is not true, unless it is a bad design.

Rebel seems slippery, no?
What about supcase unicorn beetle pro? I am trying to stay away from otterbox if possible.

My needs:
-Needs to be grippy; feel good in hands
-all around screen protection, not just top and bottom, sides to be higher than edge, as I will not buy another tempered glass protector (had enough experimenting with that)

I wouldn't say it is slippery. Not perfect though.

@note-4 Were you able to find anything adequate? Please let me know. I didn't think it'd be so hard to find a proper case for this fragile phone.
