Cases?

I'm new to the world of smartphones, and this Charge is certainly on my short short list.

Now, I'm seemingly the last of two or three people in the office without a smartphone, but I guess resistance is futile. My big gripe with these devices is that they're made so beautifully; nice lines, super thin, etc, etc... and then everyone throws a dang otterbox on it and triples the phone size. What's the difference if its plastic or aluminum if you're going to cover it with rubber anyways?

Anyways, I am curious what is out there for cases right now, and how much good these things actually do for the phone. Is there a slim case that doesn't take away from the design features of this phone, but also provides some sort of protection? What are y'all using?

I'm currently using the kickstand case from Verizon. It has a thin back case of plastic that pops on and off, with a collapsable kickstand on the back. I hardly notice it. The separate front piece slides on nicely and had a belt clip attached. It's quite nice. I use it mostly without the front piece. The negatives I see are:
- Limited protection unless the front piece is on it (as would be expected)
- The belt clip is bulky, so might be in the way if you don't need it
- It won't work with an extended battery.

I didn't look at them, so I'm guessing a bit here, but I think Verizon also offers some silicon sleeve protectors that fit over the phone like a glove. Helps protect and cushions (slightly) if (heaven forbid) you drop it. Also helps you grip the phone better. I've had something like that on a previous phone and loved the way it felt in my hand because it was more grippy. Not sure if it protexts much other than against scratches.

Also I expect there will be quite a variety of 3rd party cases.

I would suggest the TPU cases for around $8 off of powersellers on eBay. It's like silicon and plastic put together. Thin, protective, not too hard or soft.

Naked. The only way to fly. Well... plus a ghost armor screen protector.

Yes its annoying to put on but its alright. There is no cutout for the hdmi port so the case has to be removed to use it. I returned mine because of this.
