"Cast Screen" ?

At the bottom of the "display" settings of N5 there is a "cast screen" setup, what is this?
I think it is for "Miracast", am i right? Dose anyone try this ?

My Nexus 10 has this too. Can I use the tablet as a third display for my Windows notebook? Is there any software to allow me to extend my desktop to the Nexus 10?
