Hi All,

I have a Nexus 6P running on Android O. I want to stream a movie on my screen to my LG Smart TV. I have tried to use the "Cast" function on my phone whilst my Phone and TV are both connected to the WiFi, however every time I scan a device to cast on, it says no devices were found. I'm fairly new to this sort of stuff and I don't know if I need some other sort of applications or anything like that. Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks, Liam 👍

Was this working prior to installation of Android O? Has it worked since and this is the first time it hasn't worked? Android O is still a beta OS, some functionality should be expected to not work.

My phone Samsung Note can only cast to a Samsung TV. Looks like you have a incompatibility issue there. ChromeCast is quite cheap only €39.00 and supports any device.

I agree with previous posts, it could be some limitation with android O or an incompatibility issue. Just in case, do you have location enabled when trying to connect to the TV? Worth a try.

@GameDus IO I have an LG smart TV, it has all the "regular" apps on it - Netflix, YouTube, etc, and can act as a cast endpoint for those apps from any device that is able to cast. I can cast YouTube from Chrome on my Mac or the app on my Nexus phone or Samsung tablet. Same applies to Netflix. Same applies to the Roku TV I have in the other room but I don't like the way that handles Netflix.

That said, I have a Chromecast connected to the TV and a ChromeCast Audio connected to my receiver (I got one free and one only cost me $10 due to a promotional discount I got at BestBuy from AndroidPay).
