Hi everybody.
I'm thinking about picking up the new Chromecast. I want to be able to cast video from my MacBook Air to my HDTV. I have video files in a variety of formats.
I'm a bit confused however as to what is the best route to take. I want to play these files with no encoding. What I gather is that I can use VLC or the Chrome browser alone. Does anybody recommend one method over the other? Is video and audio playback pretty consistent and painless?
I stupidly sold my Apple TV because I thought the update would be an instant purchase and it isn't for me. Native AirPlay was rock solid so I'd like to hopefully have a similar experience with the new Chromecast otherwise I'll purchase a used Apple TV. Thanks.
