For those of us noobs who don't quite have the b#@&s to go the Froyo downgrade route, has anyone heard anything about HTC adding the Shift to its list of supported phones for its unlock bootloader tool?

I'm not quite ready to run a custom rom, but permanent root would be nice . . .

HTC unlocker is a joke. It doesn't fully unlock your device like rooting will do. But if your willing to wait, Agrabren from teamwin is working on rooting 2.3.3 on the Shift and will probably be supported by revolutionary.

Im wondering how long this is from being ready. I didnt know about the froyo downgrade option, but with lack of root and some things I dont like about GB have me seriously thinking about going this route!

Didn't know HTC's boot unlocker didn't give you full unlock, good to know!

Looks like I may be going down the downgrade path . . . .
