Change notification ringtone based on email address

I have a helpdesk system that sends an sms message to my S6. If I add the address to my contacts and set the message tone to another sound, I only get the standard message tone. Any ideas? There's no phone number associated with this contact.

how do you receive a text message from an email address? what does it show in the sender field?

You can send an email to yourphonenumber@mms.att.net for AT&T. Shows as a message.

so basically when you receive the text message it shows as coming from that email address?
if creating a new contact and adding that email address to it then changing the ringtone did not work... no idea
