Changed my coworkers minds.

I successfully got two of my coworkers to hop on the LG train with the G4. One came from an S3 and one came from an S4 and were both going to get the S6 and the Note, but nope.. I've been trying to get them to try something outside of the Samsung ecosystem for a good number of years now. I'm glad they switched and I hope they like it.

Have you ever changed anyone's mind?

I honestly would be curious to know how they like it.

I have an S3, and bought a G4 when they came out with Verizon, but returned it due to running-warm & battery-life issues. I am probably going to give the G4 another chance, as I want it to work out well for me. I liked a lot of things about the phone, but 2.5 hours of SOT and not making it through the day on a charge, with my particular phone, was a tough sell.

A coworker was phone shopping at the same time as me. I got my G4, and he was still debating between the 6 Plus, S6 & G4. I encountered some issues with my G4, and he decided on the S6 Edge. He's happy with it so far, and his battery life has seemingly been pretty impressive, though we couldn't figure out how to make his Verizon S6 display SOT with the built-in tools.

As nice as the S6 is, I still want an SD card and removable battery. And a smaller screen than the Note 4.

What finally sold them on the LG? The camera?

One loved the buttons on the back. He's the one that came from the S3. And he's been very impressed with my battery life over the last few weeks. He also likes that the battery is removeable.

The other that had the S4 switched from getting the Note at the very last minute because of LGs promo being such a great deal and remembering me sending him a million YouTube videos of comparisons.

I'll update on how they like it later.

Good luck man you're a brave soul! I could never deal with family/friends telling me why their device doesn't work and why I made them get it. No freakin way!! I've learned my lesson, lol!

Iphone cult following here... Ain't gonna happen. Now you get to be the resident G4 troubleshooter!

A friend of mine asked me a few months ago about an m8 or iphone 6. Got him to get an m8 and he says he'd never go back, now wants a G4 after he saw mine. His brother has an iphone 6, played with my G4 , now he wants to get one. Both of these guys have every and only apple product too, until I got them to switch. All I did was let them play with my phone for a few minutes.

A coworker has an iPhone 4 and she keeps complaining about the size of the screen. She saw me holding my G4 one day and was amazed at the size. I told her about the phone and showed her how one can customize Android, and I showed her the manual settings on the camera. She was blown away, but I'm thinking she'll probably cave and get an iPhone 6 when she goes for her upgrade. She doesn't seem like the adventurous type.

Had an 18 year old give me grief for my Android selection. I gave it to him (G4) and told him to fiddle around with it, he was amazed, after a half hour he admitted it was awesome, still won't get one because he's still into the peer thing, however I think he'll come over eventually.

I never recommend specific phone models to anyone. There is no way I want them coming back to me when they can't figure something out or something goes wrong. I tell them what I have and let them make their own decisions. Somehow it seems like "you recommend it you own it".

A friend of mine bought his g4 at the same time I did, largely due to my encouragement, and since I did massive amounts of research through this forum I was pretty well versed in how to deal with and make the most out of this phone.

He may, in fact, be reading this thread as I've highly encouraged him to check out the forum and feel free to ask questions. (Ian, are you there?)

I've tried to relieve myself of this feeling of responsibility, and I think we're both happy :)

That's funny that a lot of you are saying you don't want to be troubleshooter. It's interesting cause even when we had different phones I was still troubleshooting their phones.. Now it'll just be a little easier. I think I've become used to it over the years.

I convinced myself to get this phone. Coming from blackberry z30 I had a hard time giving up my universal hub. There's just nothing out there like it. However I was getting real tired of not having certain apps on the z30. So I was out shopping for an android and specifically the s6 edge. I loved it but felt that it was a little to small For my liking. I didn't want a huge phone like the note but wanted a touch bigger. Then the telus rep I was talking to suggested the g4 as it just came out that day. As soon as I put this phone in my hands I thought, this is a great size for me albeit the specs felt as if it would have been much bigger. I actually love this phone. The Canadian model being the h812 doesn't suffer from the things I hear on here. The battery can last me at least 12hrs a day with about 4.5-5.5 sot. I was a little worried that I would be stuck to the wall coming from a z30 which if you had one is a beast on the battery....I would get two days easy on that thing

Well you have a good, smart friend! I'd recommend anyone who I know I wouldn't have to baby if something should go wrong with their device. Don't get me wrong, I'm always willing to help but not every darn time something goes wrong. I'm kind of going through that right now with my brother and his Verizon G3. I think Verizon has messed up those devices with their updates.

The one that's the hardest to impress said this in our meeting today

"Man... I love my phone"

I felt a tiny sense of accomplishment.

Hey I'm headed for an upgrade. Using a S4 been leaning to the G4 or note 4. Just push me into a decision. Very undecided. I hear the note 5 will be sealed no removable battery or SD
