changing keyboards

i would like to change my keyboard to a gingerbread version so i downloaded the apk, so how do i install it?

Once you download the apk, use a file manager like Astro or the built in Samsung File manager and go to the location of the file. Once you tap on it, it will ask if you want to install it.

On a semi-related note...does anyone have any information about the keyboard that was in SC for DL09 (I was using swype as the input method)? It was a brushed aluminum looking keyboard that I really enjoyed. Does anyone know where I can find it?

I believe swype was stripped from the DL09 superclean rom. I believe the swype beta looks the same as the version the version you're talking about.
