I set up my S2 with fingerprint security.. I now cannot remember the password I set originally and am locked out.

Is there an alternative to a factory reset?
If not how do I do a factory reset on the S2?

It doesn't give you the option to authenticate with your Google credentials?

No.. It is a separate password that you have to know to even change the password if it detects your fingerprint.
I have searched many forums and so far 1 forum said it can only be done via a factory reset

So it's not when you are trying to unlock the device then. Yes, the only way to fix it is factory reset. Sorry. :/
