Changing status bar icons

Okay so I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one, but is there any way without rooting and running a custom ROM to switch the stock status bar icons on the top of the phone? For example, the vincent 4G LTE in the reception by level to see LTE or whatever signal you're on? Thank you so much.
