When driving at night and receiving a text the harsh white background makes it difficult to adjust after reading the text. For months we've been looking for a way to adjust that. Finally a workaround. NOTE: works for Message+ but could also work for Samsung.

First. Cover the camera with your hand so the screen sees ALL black. Take a picture.
Open up Message+ Select Customize Then Background.
Select the Large + sign at the beginning of your color choices.
Then select the black picture you just took. Then Save.
Your recent list will go from white background with black lettering to black background with white letters.

You will also have to change the Outgoing message bubble AND the Receiptent 1 bubble. We've found different shades of gray work well.

REMEMBER ! This is for not lighting up the whole interior of the car when you open up a text message.

There's an alternative - don't read texts while driving.

Another alternative - Android Auto will read the messages to you, though that MAY require a different messaging app.
