Changing the look of notifications

I liked the way Marshmallow displayed text messages. There was more contrast than other notifications. Is there a way to customize this on Nougat? Thanks.

Agree. I really miss the card form factor, the sharp corners and "sheet" UI doesn't belong in the notifications. This, along with a few other problems, make me wish I were still on Marshmallow.

yeah I preferred the card style in Marshmallow. Plus, Whatsapp still displays my messages when I pull down the notification shade. I wish it's back to beeing a notification without the message displaying.

Well, if you have any technical expertise, and you really don't like Nougat, like I did, you could try flashing back to Marshmallow. I did that yesterday. Beware, doing this will erase the data and may break your device if you do something wrong.
