Changing the time zone in smartphone

so, i have a question about changing the time zone in your smartphone. Does changing it will affect the network service provider? For example, i need to speed up my date my phone, so i just have to change the time zone correct? but will the network provider be fool with this cheap tricks?

Welcome to Android Central! You can always set your time zone manually, but the carrier will still be using its own clock and calendar when it comes to keeping track of your calls and data.

If you're doing it to force an Android update in less than 24 hours, it works - just advance the day by 1.

If you want to set your account to the next billing period, to use next month's data, it won't work.
