I'm new here.
But trying to charge 3 old phones to copy pictures, but they won't charge.
One is 10 years old!

Welcome to Android Central! First, have you already tried different charging plugs/cables? If that still doesn't work, then it's most likely that the batteries have completely failed due to age. You'd have to find replacement batteries, but keep in mind that replacements have probably also been sitting on a shelf for a while, which means they may already be pretty degraded as well.

Ten year old phone that won't charge? Just guessing but is the actual issue being you're having a problem plugging in a charger into these dated phones? Keep in mind that current Android phones now have USB Type-C ports in them, and previously they all had microUSB (a.k.a. USB - b) ports. USB Type-C plugs and ports have a different shape and size than microUSB ports and plugs so you need to use one or the other. They are not interchangeable. With old phones, you need to use a USB cable with a microUSB plug on its end to work with a the ports in the those older phones.
If you take a flashlight and look really close to the USB port on one of those phones you'll be able to see the difference and use the proper charging cable.

Even older phones don't have USB, of any sort, charging sockets but a round socket. If you check you may find that they are still designed to work with a 5V charger so a USB charger with appropriate adapter should work. If not 5V then you will need to find the original charger or a voltage step up/down adapter.

We need to hear back from the OP, but they mentioned that one is 10 years old. I can only assume that's the oldest since it was the only one to have the age called out.

I have a BlackBerry Z10 that's now just over 10 years old. It has a micro USB port. Before that, an even older BlackBerry Pearl 8100 from 2007 had a mini USB port.

Either way, we do need to hear from the OP what they did to try to charge the phones.

It could be that the battery is too far gone to even take a charge now.

Hi - I'm just sending this one reply for now - but I do have the original chargers but they are not working.
The oldest phone is the 10 year old one.
I guess the issue is the batteries at this point?

Thanks for the responses!

Right, but I had suggested trying different charging plugs and cables as well, to rule out the possibility that your original chargers have failed (or alternatively, test your original chargers on some other device to see if they work there). Can you give that a go?
