Noticed my phone has recently been very slow to charge whilst it is in use. had the message come up saying unable to charge as it is using too much power. I've closed all Windows and applications using various app killers and battery savers. I've tried several chargers and at the minute I can only charge the phone whilst it's switched off. It doesn't even give enough power to hold the %age if its switched on. it's driving me crazy. I've tried the power + vol down thing but I didn't know what to do the options that came up says nothing about battery reset.
I've just connected to my laptop I deleted a file which said battery history. I've never seen that before?

Have you tried a different charger/cable? Or even a different power outlet?

If no other chargers do it, then it might be that the battery is starting to fail.

Ive tried a few different cables plugs and outlets. It does light up red to say it's charging. One thing I've noticed is all are a bit wobbly when they are plugged in too but I wouldn't have thought that would cause a slow charge?

I had two M8's where the USB ports went bad, causing this same scenario. Tried new cables, chargers, etc, and nothing would work. Sometimes it would charge if the cable was held at the right angle. Basically it's likely a hardware problem with the phone itself. As much as I loved the phone, I moved on.

My suggestion to you is backup everything if possible and prepare for it to get so bad it'll stop charging all together. I barely got my last one backed up before losing data sync, and couldn't get it charged enough to do an encryption and wipe for security reasons.

Thank you, I backed up yesterday. Seems to be getting worse. It was an insurance replacement from EE in March, possibly still under warranty but their repairs/replacements are appalling when it was with Orange and EE have doubled their cost!
