Charging Port Issues

Since converting from apple to Samsung, I've had nothing but good experiences with my Note 4. Well I'm starting to see some wrinkles. My phone is about 2 months old and my micro usb port is starting to act up. Sometimes when I'm charging my phone after a few minutes it will discharge then charge making the connection alert. Now I'm trying to connect it to my laptop and at first my laptop would not recognize it but it would charge it. I tried other cables and nothing. Then I pulled the cable off and as I was pulling it off it connected which tells me something is not connecting inside the port. Is anyone else starting to have this problem? One thing I loved about apples charging port, it was always reliable, especially the iphone 5 and up models. Sucked they were proprietary but I feel they were well designed.

It sounds like you have a problem with either the cable or the port on your phone.

It happens from time to time, but usually after a lot of charging sessions.

I've only had a bad cable and S4 charger go bad. Note 4 has been great. Hopefully it's just dirt and can be straightened out. Good luck.

The port wasn't soldered to the board properly. (The soldering machine does about 150 connectors/minute, so they don't inspect each one with a magnifying glass - which is the only way to make sure that each one is defect-free.)

The phone is under warranty, so have it replaced. (Back up everything, of course.)

Contacted AT&T and they are sending me a recertified Note 4. Not sure how I feel about that. I purchased a brand new phone that was defective so shouldn't I get a NEW phone?!

If you are within the exchange period then you should get a new replacement. Otherwise you will probably get a refurbished

Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4
