I have a S5 that uses the micro usb 3.0 cable. When using the block and cable plugged into a wall outlet the phone charges from 0 to 100 in an hour. Really quick...now using that same cable plugged in a usb 3.0 port on my pc, it takes hours, like 8 hours to charge my phone. Why does the charge times vary soo much. I have iPad, iPods, iPhones, and other tablets that charge really fast when plugged into any usb port on my pc. But for some reason, the S5 takes forever.

Any ideas, can this be fixed or adjusted in settings? I have a grouping of cables always plugged into my pc so I can update/upload/download at anytime without having to awkwardly reach and fumble around the back of my tower. I don't want to have to keep unplugging the cable and using it with a charge block and outlet.

Thanks!!

I did read up somewhere about the amperage coming thru a usb, just under 1 i think, and the wall charger at 2.1 or something like that. But I can plug in a completely dead iPad or iPod (lightning cable or 30 pin) and they will charge quickly. Much faster than my S5. So I have one wall charger up in my bedroom, and one in my kitchen, I do have an outlet by my desk, but I would require a 3rd charging block. Where do you recommend purchasing "good" charge blocks and cables.

Well - I could see your iPod charging quickly as it likely has a smaller battery, but the iPad not so much...my iPad 2 on the wall charger takes an hour or more to charge up to 80%

I prefer to shop on Amazon:

yea, my ipad 1st gen won't charge, but the newer ipad mini on the lightning cable charges pretty quick, thanks for the link,
I was debating after I wrote this post, maybe I should invest in a USB hub, one that has a power supply, might be worthwhile since I have one out of 8 ports available, might also give the extra little juice...
