The best ads are the Nexus ads with the kid. They don't bash anything, but just show what the product does.

He certainly isn't gonna praise the competition is he? I mean basic PR.

He sounded petty. Not what one would expect from a CEO. Ads are another story. I was a little embarrassed to have an iPhone after he talked. I am bored to tears of my iPhone actually. Still a solid device, but doesn't consume media quite as well as a flagship android.

Makes me want a Nexus. Classy advertising.

All that said, I have been using my iPhone like coffee in a candle smelling shop, android being the candle. Like a long whiff of coffee, before smelling different types of candles, it feels good to put the coffee down and fire up a nice Android :) missed mine very much. Keeping the Apple for now. Maybe after Tim's words disappear, I will pick it up again ha ha.

I agree about advertising being better if not negative. Some of the worst ads are the Microsoft ones. They are either overtly negative or just dumb. If I didn't already like Microsoft products their ads wouldn't make me interested.

Surprisingly I have never seen an ad for Microsoft other than the phone ones. Those just show the superior cameras, nothing more. 😅

Microsoft had me with their Windows platform for computers up until I used Windows 8 on a laptop. Not a big fan of the gestures and I was completely lost with looking for files coming from Windows 7. 😦

I actually like Windows 8.1 update 1. My ASUS laptop has a touchscreen, but I rarely use it. i adapted to the gestures without any issues, and I also pin my 'modern' apps that I use frequently to my taskbar.

Have you seen the Surface ad? That one is awful. It shows a bunch of people dancing around, but it does not show what the Surface actually does.

Yeah, never used the touchscreen either. Gestures were pretty dodgy when I used them. Only ones I used were recent apps and charms bar, but they worked about half the time 😞

As far as the Surface goes, it looks nice but not a fan of the keyboard, and it's more expensive than a Macbook 😨

I pretty much use the keyboard shortcuts. Those aren't all that different from the ones in Windows 7. However, I've been using keyboard shortcuts for a long time.

Does have Android have it? No.

Fanboy mode activated because of Stargate.

Android also took inspiration from Web OS with the multitasking. Or did you forget that? Did it work with your PC and/or MAC as well? Nope. So bad Stargate.

Windows 8.1 is actually pretty darn good.

I really don't get the hate.

I know many people at work that also like it a lot and hardly have anything bad to say about it.
