[Chatter] "Where everybody knows your name ..."

Here are some pics of the Elephone P7000. It came with the case, two plastic screen protectors, one installed from the factory and a tempered glass screen protector. The flip case is nice and shows the clock through the opening. For the price, the phone and the accessories are a very good buy. The battery life is really nice and stock Android 5.0 seems to work just fine. I don't have any memory leak issues like those I experienced on my Nexus 7 which ran really poor on 5.0. This thing also has 3GB of RAM so it does not slow down even when about 20 apps are open and running in the background. Very solid device.

That's really nice!

How did you get that stye of clock widget?

So the Elephone has a pretty big black border around the LCD as seen from the photos. I kept wondering why this was. I finally figured out what is going on. I think the phone is a knock off of a Galaxy Note 4 in terms of the metallic border and physical size (5.7" screen) but has an actual 5.5" LCD only:-) The smaller LCD could be cheaper or a standard item made in bulk whilst there are fewer devices with the 5.7" screen. Size wise this phone is identical to the Mi Note but has a smaller screen. Also it is heavier because of the bigger battery and the removable back.

The other thing is that they have capacitive buttons instead of physical buttons on the bottom but the home button has a built in LED aka Meizu. The fingerprint scanner on the back works really well and I am trying to figure out who they copied for that aspect. Overall this phone cannot be beat for the price.

Oh, how this reminds me of NotJustAPhone.......Back when chatter filled dozens of pages a day. Sigh.....

So I discovered one more item on the Elephone which is pretty nifty. If the phone is turned off and then plugged into the wall outlet for charging, through the circle opening in the case it shows the battery % and a charging animation. Very nice:-)

A couple hours ago it got real dark here at work, and soon after the rain came down by the bucket.
But my phone didn't get the darkness, it looks a lot clearer than it was.
