So I was having fun at the beach...and then I completely blew out my left knee
I was horsing around on the beach with some friends, and my left leg just buckled under me. As fell, I felt a sickening 'POP'.
So I now, my leg is wrapped up in a Immobilization Wrap, and I am on crutches.
I'm really hoping that I won't have to have surgery.

Ugh. I didn't blow my knee but my shoulder is still a mess. And its looking like surgery is becoming more of a likely outcome

Very sorry to hear that...from everything that I am hearing from friends, coworkers, ect. it seems that surgery may be unavoidable for me too.

I had arthroscopic surgery on my right knee when I was 14 years old. I injured my knee in a bike accident. I haven't had any issues with that knee since, luckily.
Back in 2005 I injured my left knee by stepping awkwardly in my parents' house. I went to the ER, and I had a sprained, but not torn, ACL. I was on crutches for awhile and then rehabbed it. Thankfully, it hasn't acted up again.
I do go to a gym and do leg exercises frequently.

I can relate to your knee injury. I first injured my Knee back in '97.I did aggravate it a couple years ago and again this summer.When aggravated it swells up and, not fluid as I went to doctor to have it drained and was nothing to drain,but got a shot in knee to help.When it swells up its about twice the size of a normal knee(swells up around the knee)
I going to have to go see a specialist to see why its doing that.My knee constantly pops and crackles when I walk but no real pain , . I'm my case it may be a Meniscus Tear.
Anyway , Hope you get better soon as well .Hopefully surgery isn't needed.

Hope you get better to and maybe surgery wont be needed . But sometimes its the only way to totally fix something . Anyhoo get better soon,
