Sorry to hear . Mine G4 battery life has been pretty good.

I have past on Windows 10 for now. I can download it anytime.
I might update at Christmas or next spring

I downloaded it a week ago, and it still won't activate properly.

I go to the activation section, and I get the error message that the license key has been blocked by the Microsoft Activation Servers.

I have called Microsoft several times and all I have been told is to either "Wait until it automatically activates or purchase a license key" (of course the freaking license keys are $199.99)

Right now I am ticked off at Microsoft!

Well that's not good!
I would be ticked off too!

I hope that problem you're having comes to an end soon.

I read enough on internet that shows enough people having trouble with is the reason I'm waiting awhile.
Windows 8.1 is working fine for my needs right now.I just use home computer for AC, Youtube , hobbies,researching electroincs/gadgets ,

Have you switched back to the windows version you was on before attempting to upgrade ?

Win10 is working just fine for me on my laptop and my 8" tablet. No issues including the perfect adblock on the laptop
