It will make changing the look of your soft keys easier because you can just edit the picture being used like you can will application icons so no more flashing softkeys. You can keep your favorite softkey png files on your sdcard and your all set. Also it's nice to be able to assign apps to the long press option, now when I long press my menu button system settings opens and long pressing search opens AIVC.

Whoops, already flashed lol.

I'll try this next time though. Sounds awesome. Is it buggy?

I've seen some post where people have had issues but mine are working just fine.

Re: [Chatter] Galaxy Nexus Crackflashers/News/Discussion

Looking thru a couple of the threads in the general section, I'm amazed at how ppl are resistant to trying out rooting/romming their phone.
Admittedly rooting and iinstalling roms is not the end all to all problems, its just that lots of folks just wait around whining and hoping the new update will "fix" their phone.
I am a guy that is proactive and don't like to wait around to fix stuff. Not that the phone has to be fixed but at least try installing different software and experimenting with your phone as it seems most of the issues are software related.
Most will say a phone should just work without rooting/romming but at least try to do something about it instead of being a "woe is me" kind of person.
I could have posted this in the thread but would get blasted like defmouse did lol
/end of rant
:D

Yeah I venture into there out of sheer boredom. A few of them are straight up trolls. Some are great though and deserve to be helped and such. We must get more flashers!

Haha that's exactly what it is.. starts as boredom / wanting to help out.. before i know it I'm shaking my head as I try to explain to a bunch of people crying about still being on 4.0.2 that they're doing it wrong. Like davey said, be proactive! I don't think I've been on 4.0.2 since december, lolz :)

I've never done so. Any video of TR3? Just downloaded.

Wipe cache/dalvik + flash?

All the zipthemer stuff I don't wipe, but will not hurt.
After using r3 for a bit, I think I am going back to r2. R2 is more flashy. They are all great though. I flash a different one every few days. ;-p

Re: [Chatter] Galaxy Nexus Crackflashers/News/Discussion

@davey11 funny you mentioned... been meaning to try those framework animations for it feels like months now but I keep forgetting... So i just went and loaded r3 using the zipthemer method. No problem getting it loaded and its pretty nice :)

You say r2 was "flashier"... how so? Thanks for the heads up/reminder btw ;)

Re: [Chatter] Galaxy Nexus Crackflashers/News/Discussion

And where is R2? Can you link? Going to download R3, run it through ZipThemer, and see what's what. Would love to have R2 to compare!

Edit: LMAO nm, on the OP of the RW post.

You know what...it's going to be super tough explaining how one is flashier, but r3 has the screen tilting left then right and ends up a shift. R2 does a swirl and shift. Haha hope that explains it somewhat. Jus try different ones out.

Lmao you're right it was dumb to even ask on my part haha... I'll give r2 a shot later maybe... Too lazy now :)

Re: [Chatter] Galaxy Nexus Crackflashers/News/Discussion

You guys don't find the transitions to slow down the phone a bit?

I've used psyntwist and a few others by psyn and they all seemed to lag my homescreens.

granted, this was probably back on like ... milestone 1 aokp

I was afraid of that actually, but no, with r3 at least everything is still quick. The animations are "flashy" but IMO not obtrusive enough to be a bother. I'm gonna stick with it I kinda like em.. especially how there's different animations for like opening/closing apps, windows within apps, even the screen notifications, and keyboard on/offs... its pretty cool :)
