Hey guys... so I put on AOKP a few hours ago... definitely a lot faster than stock, pretty sweet.

Should I flash to new radios I've seen or wait for the real 4.0.4 update? The radio is the only thing I'm confused about. I've never had a cut out of call drop before.

Flash the radios per zero's thread. When the new radios--if any--are available, we'll point you in the right direction .

this will show you how to install roms and kernels and make backups. Excellent resource:

But as 2def said, basically you can just flash them, tho you can/should clear cache and dalvik before you change them.

Yup. Doesn't hurt to do a cache/dalvik wipe, either.

As I booted up is said Android is Upgrading and a countup of optimizing all the apps I have.

Yes it says that whenever you wipe caches, that's just the system rebuilding your dalvik cache.

Who knows. Some thought it was the work of trolling, but our own Poseign actually took pictures of an updated device in a Verizon store.

Armed with this new information, I will be calling Verizon again. I just want an ETA b/c I've nothing to flash!

As I just mentioned in the general thread.... The bionic's in stores always had firmware and radio versions that "appeared" to be ahead of the curve while they were actually old ones that were never intended for public phones. Just something to keep in mind..

New radios are acquired. Flashing while smoking, just in case hits the fan. Will report back and then link to the package if it works.
