Hey ChatterHeads!!! I've made up my mind. As soon as my income tax cheque (oops, that's the Canadian spelling!) shows up, I'm pulling the trigger on a S4... unless the local prices on a Note3 drop suddenly (it's more for a Note 3 on contract then a S5!!!). Moto seems like a bare step up from my Gnex, and stock/vanilla Android has gotten really stale. I'll jump into TouchWiz and go from there. If HTC had the guts of the M7 or M8 but without the front speakers, I'd be more interested. Seems a waste to buy such a big phone and give up screen size for speakers I'll almost never use.

Anyway, I'll post pics when I get it. Probably gonna get a full body skin for it (InvisibleShield maybe) and throw it in a TPU case.

Not sure of your provider but if it's AT&T the bootloader is locked down on the S4 something fierce. No one has gotten into it last I heard.

Not sure of your provider but if it's AT&T the bootloader is locked down on the S4 something fierce. No one has gotten into it last I heard.

I'm on Rogers (Canadian, eh!), but I'm not worried about unlocking the bootloader. I think I'll run it locked until the warranty is up. Haven't even bothered to look into how hard it is to crack into a Rogers S4, although it's interesting you mention AT&T. I know for a fact AT&T phones are 100% compatible with Rogers as far as frequencies go.

Doing fine. Although after a week of nice spring weather, we're in for a COLD week. As in a possibility of record-breaking cold. Which sucks, we've had the worst winter in 115 years, so EVERYONE is tired of cold and wind, and desperate for warm weather. If this keeps up we're just gonna jump from winter straight into summer and skip spring altogether!

I'm glad for your choice since I have the GS4 and love it. It's my first Samsung phone and didn't take long to fly just fine with it.

Now, if it's more for the Note 3 than for a GS5, why don't you just get the GS5?

I already have to pay $150 early upgrade fee. S4 is $50, S5 is $249, Note3 is $269. A couple weeks ago the Note3 was down to $100. Kinda kicking myself for not going for it.

**Edit** Not more then an hour after I posted this, Ye Ole Nexus pulls its "Factory Reset" trick again. Wierd thing is it's always still fully rooted, TWRP still fully functional, nothing gets borked... just wipes the apps/data. Doesn't matter what I run for apps or ROM (even factory stock 4.3, locked bootloader). I think it just hates me and whoever I sell it to will have no troubles with it...

Or it's haunted.
